Wineries Offer Unique Event Spaces

Wine Caves offer elegant dining options.

A great business meeting, annual conference, staff retreat, or incentive trip is about being productive, of course, but a really great gathering keeps its attendees enjoying the time and leaving truly inspired.

What better place to charge up the team, than the heart of gorgeous Sonoma Wine Country, California?

Sonoma County is home to more than 400 wineries, and many offer private and unique event spaces that are perfect not only for business groups, but offer a reward for work well done, too. More than just a meeting space, these venues can create memories for a lifetime.

Perhaps you might organize an all-day seminar in a sunlit library or garden courtyard, keeping attendees motivated, happy and alert with spectacular vineyard views. Next, you might host a fun-filled team building exercise of blending your own wine (the winning blend gets to drink the prize!), followed by a spectacular farm-to-table dinner in a real wine cave.

Here are just a few of Sonoma County’s outstanding winery venues. Can an ordinary conference center ballroom compare to these treasures? Absolutely not.

Benziger Family Winery nestles above the wine country village of Glen Ellen in one of the most beautiful locations in Sonoma Valley. It has a number of unique private event options that include a 27,000-square-foot wine cave with 1,600 square feet of banquet space that can accommodate 120 guests for lunch or dinner; a charming Wine Country barn with solid birch floors to host meetings, wine blending seminars, and meal functions for up to 120; and an outdoor terrace that can seat up to 220 amid beautiful gardens and a natural mountain landscape. Bonus: Your group can spend their day here on a private walking or tram tour, bringing an intimate immersion into Wine Country, biodynamic farming, and the art of wine.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery was founded by its namesake movie legend, and Francis himself puts it best, saying the winery is “a wine wonderland, a park of pleasure where people of all ages can enjoy all the best things in life.” That means food, wine, a movie museum, music, dancing, games, swimming, and performances of all types, in an elaborate chateau setting. This high profile destination can accommodate groups from 15 to 150 with eight different venue options, and custom extras like a beautiful après-meeting wine and hors d’oeuvres party overlooking Alexander Valley on the West Terrace.

St. Francis Winery & Vineyards exemplifies Wine Country splendor, while nimbly catering to the most demanding professional groups of 20 to 220 people. Reminiscent of a Tuscan estate tucked right in the vineyards, the mission-style tasting room and private event spaces are framed with views of the Mayacamas mountains, the Sonoma Valley, and Hood Mountain. Extra amenities include guided wine tastings, lavish luncheons, and chef-orchestrated wine-paired dinners.
