Meet in Sonoma in Summer
Sonoma County presents itself green and lush as we head into the summer months. With all the festivals, markets and annual goings-on, you can spend every day outdoors. Beginning in May running through September, you’ll find our calendar of events jam-packed with fun events - something for everyone in your group! Here are just a few favorites:
The Santa Rosa Wednesday Night Market features a variety of local food, craft beer and local wines, arts and crafts, farm fresh produce, community organizations, live music and entertainment, plus children's activities. Join the fun in downtown Santa Rosa as this seasonal event marks its 29th year! Every Wednesday night from May 3 through August 16. Details.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday evening from May 10 through October 25, visitors enjoy Paradise Ridge Wine and Sunsets – great wines paired with beautiful Sonoma County sunsets. Each week also features live music and a local food truck. Advance tickets are $10, $5 for wine club members, and $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at www.prwinery.com Due to the popularity of this event, groups are limited to 8 people.
The 19th Annual Healdsburg Jazz Festival, June 2 - June 11, 2017, celebrates a medley of jazz styles in a variety of locations. This year, the festival presents another imaginative and eclectic lineup, pulling together a wide variety of top tier mainstream, modern, traditional, Latin and blues performers. Details.
Transcendence's "Broadway Under the Stars" is a series of award-winning concerts featuring accomplished Broadway and Hollywood performers in the majestic open-air winery ruins in Sonoma's Jack London State Historic Park. Each evening begins with pre-show picnicking on the great lawn, with multiple wineries pouring and food and wine available for purchase. The 2017 “Taste of Sonoma,” one of Sonoma Wine Country Weekend’s most significant wine and food events, will be held at a new location: the beautiful Sonoma State University and the Donald & Maureen Green Music Center. Additionally, the event will expand to two days, occurring over Labor Day weekend, Saturday, September 2 and Sunday, September 3, 2017. Sonoma County’s signature wine and food event brings together over 200 of Sonoma’s top winemakers and growers, along with a collection of the area’s best chefs. All proceeds benefit local Sonoma charities.
