New at Graton Resort and Casino: Sam's For Play Express
Sonoma County’s Graton Resort & Casino continues to expand its dining options; the Marketplace food court has a new dining destination, with the opening of Sam’s For Play Express, a spin-off of the two popular Sam’s For Play Café locations in Santa Rosa.
It’s the work of Sam Anker and her son, Troy Anker, following the same philosophy Sam took when she opened her first eatery in 1985, focusing on American diner food served in huge portions at low prices.
And it’s a personal pick by Graton Rancheria/Casino tribal chairman Greg Sarris, mainly because the original Sam’s on Sebastopol Road and a second location on Cleveland Avenue are favorite places for him to dine.
Sure to make it a favorite for everyone else, the casino spot stays open through breakfast, lunch, and dinner until 3 a.m. on weekends.
The menu covers all the belly-filling classics, like chicken-fried steak, Belgian waffle, omelets, and biscuits smothered in gravy. Entrées range from spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread, to fish ‘n’ chips, a chili cheese dog, avocado BLT with coleslaw, and big, sweet cinnamon rolls.
Sam’s For Play Express, 288 Golf Course Drive West, Rohnert Park, www.samsforplaycafe.com. Hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
