Sumbody Day Spa Review

Want to spa Sonoma County style? Sumbody Day Spa offers a full menu of facials, massage and body treatments at their day spa in downtown Sebastopol.

Renowned for their luscious goat milk-infused natural skin and body care line, Sumbody is the place to go for pampering and relaxation.

Tucked behind the retail store is a romantic gypsy caravan-like “spa cave” decorated with an eco-style aesthetic including silk wall hangings, gentle lighting, and a comfortable lounge.

You’ll hear the tinkling sounds of a fountain as you enter this warm and welcoming space. Several treatment rooms are available, each with its own unique style.

After changing into a robe, a Sumbody therapist will offer cucumber water and a choice of an essential oil blends with names like “Joy,” “Receive,” and “Relaxation” that will be used throughout your spa experience.

On my recent Sumbody spa day, my aesthetician, Suzanne, welcomed me and after I chose my aromatherapy blend she asked me careful questions about my skin before my facial began.

Generous massage and an array of Sumbody’s amazing products soothed my senses as Suzanne proceeded to do gentle extractions and apply masks and cleansers to balance and cleanse my complexion. This 50-minute experience ended with an application of Sumbody’s shea butter lip balm.

Next up was a 60-minute Swedish massage that was custom tailored to my needs. Unlike a cookie cutter, “one size fits all” massage, my massage therapist, Olivia, focused on the areas that I had identified as needing special attention.

Her expert attention to my feet and neck areas and expert techniques left me relaxed and tension free. The massage came to a close with the application of hot towels to my feet, a perfect ending to a great experience.

If you can’t make it for a spa day, indulge in Sumbody’s wide array of natural skin care products, including bath, body, baby hair and makeup. Go to their website www.sumbody.com for more information.
