Turning in through the gates of Sbragia Family Vineyards and you'll find flower-filled tubs, trickling fountains and grape-laden vines, plus something spectacularly unexpected, a two-story-high deck that extends into a V, giving couples a dramatic (and photogenic) spot for their ceremony.
This 7,200-square-foot terrace overlooks the lush Dry Creek Valley. The surrounding Zinfandel vines are vibrant green in the spring and summer, turning a shimmering gold in the fall. Getting married here at sunset is particularly beautiful from April to October, when almost every ceremony is held outdoors.
To reach the terrace, guests walk through garden areas via a grand staircase that angles up the hillside from the parking lot. (Anyone not wanting to take the stairs has easy access from a road at the back of the building.) While her family and friends admire the view, the bride and her entourage get ready in a small, changing and waiting room. After the ceremony, everyone moves to the west-facing side of the deck where bars have been set up in tented gazebos.
Couples find a myriad of ways to make the space their own. Tea lights, flowers and twinkle lights can easily be added to create a mood that's romantic and fun.
