The Robert Ferguson Observatory is open to the public at least once a month, usually on a Saturday near the time of the New Moon. Star Parties begin at dusk, when the Observatory's three main telescopes are open for your viewing. Docents set up additional telescopes in front of the building, and presentations on astronomical topics are given in the classroom. Visitors must arrive by 9 p.m. in winter and 10 p.m. in summer. On the same day each month, solar viewings are usually offered 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
