    Located adjacent to the Russian River, Riverfront Regional Park is just minutes east of downtown Windsor. The main attractions in the park are two former gravel pits which have been reclaimed as lakes offering bass fishing as well as a Great Blue Heron rookery. A two mile multi-use trail encircles Lake Benoist, and a half mile trail winds through the trees on Redwood Hill. Amenities include two day use picnic area, a reserveable group picnic area shaded by redwoods, horseshoe pit and volleyball court. Swimming in the lakes is prohibited. Dogs are allowed on 6 foot leash.
