Equine Epochs, History of Sonoma County Horses
An exhibit of the history of Sonoma County’s horses will be featured at the History Museum of Sonoma County, Santa Rosa starting on July 21, 2017 and running through Nov. 4, 2017. Displays will include photos, narratives, and films of famous Sonoma County horses, as well as over 50 historic artifacts, fine art, and films. The exhibition will show the evolution of horses in the County from pre-historic to modern day, and their impact on the County’s economy, entertainment, culture, recreation, and health.
Displays will include:

• Influence of Vaqueros
• Historic and modern uses of horses
• Antique horse drawn carriages
• Riding attire and equipment over the ages
• Equine industry revenue
• Sonoma County horses in movies
• Equine paintings and sculpture
Famous horses, breeders, and trainers such as Anteeo, Kenilworth, Lou Dillon, Monogramm, Cal Bar, Shakin Flo, Issac deTurk, Perce Brothers, Arnold Dolcini, Jack London, and Buster Millerick will be featured.
