GLENDI is Greek for PARTY! Each year thousands come to join in this festival to eat, dance, and celebrate. Voted "Best Way to Eat Around the World" by the Sonoma County Independent. GLENDI is a global culinary delight specializing in Russian, Macedonian, Eritrean, Greek, Balkan, Italian and Middle Eastern foods. There’s roasted lamb, Russian borsht and Piroshki, Greek gyros, Eritrean zigni with inerja bread, Macedonian sarma, falafel with hummus and tabouleh, pork kabobs and more. Try the Greek, Eritrean or regular coffee artisan teas, craft beers, a German Biergarten, and a selection of wines, along with a huge array of international desserts. Indulge in the “Baklava Sundae!” Work off your meal by dancing to the music of internationally known Édessa, featured all day both Saturday and Sunday. The two churches - the original Protection of the Holy Virgin built in 1936, and the newer Saint Seraphim - will be open for tours. A choir concert is held in the candle-lit church at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while guests continue to dance outside. Kids will delight in the children’s area, while grown-ups enjoy browsing ethnic crafts, bookstore, and drawings for door prizes. A portion of the proceeds are donated to local charitable organizations. All foods and baked goods are available for take-out. Admission is $5. Children under 12: Free. Parking is now available on-site; carpooling is encouraged. Saturday, Sept. 17, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 12-6 p.m.
