Original paintings and newer digital images by Sonoma County artist Thomas Creed will be on display at the Hinman-Chaney Art Gallery located at Paradise Ridge Winery from October 8-30, with a reception on Friday, October 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The gallery will be open weekends 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment. Thomas has been painting and exhibiting his art for over 40 years. In 1986, he committed to an art career by attending the San Francisco Art Institute. It was not until he moved to Sonoma County in 1993 that he became enlivened by nature again and started painting landscapes full-time. Working from his studio in Windsor, he also paints outdoors in Plein Air, and continues with great respect the classical tradition of Realism. Paradise Ridge Winery is sponsoring this exhibit, and 40% of proceeds will benefit Thomas' charity of choice Social Advocates for Youth (SAY). SAY was established 45 years ago and serves thousands of youth annually throughout Sonoma County providing housing, counseling and jobs programs. Last year 139 youth found a safe place to live at the SAY housing program. Their family advocate connected families in crises, while 84% of youth completed the job training program, preparing them for success in their next job.
