Please join the Sonoma State University Symphony Orchestra and the Santa Rosa Junior College Orchestra for this joint concert that will feature concertos of all shapes and sizes, highlighting the way in which the concerto genre has changed and evolved over the past 300 years. You’ll hear a Baroque Concerto Grosso by Telemann (with violinist Aaron Westman of Philharmonia Baroque as soloist and leader), works from the Classical and Romantic periods, and twentieth-century concertos by Aruitunian and Gliere, performed respectively by Zachary Hall and Megan Rice, winners of the 2016 Sonoma State University Concerto Competition. Alexander Kahn leads the SSU Symphony Orchestra, and Jerome Fleg leads the JC Orchestra.
