The Sebastopol Regional Library is pleased to announce an exciting new photographic exhibit titled “Spotlight on Photography: Photos by Members of the Santa Rosa Photographic Society.” The exhibition opens to the public September 23, 2016 and continues through October 29, 2016, during regular library hours. The library is located at 7140 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol. A special reception and educational event will be on Thursday, October 6, from 4 to 6 PM, and photo club members will be available to talk about their photographs.
The “Spotlight” exhibition includes 18 photos of all styles, including landscape, abstract and creative. The finished photographs printed on paper, metal and canvas will induce many oohs and aahs from the viewers. Highlights of the exhibit include photos of scenic landscapes, exotic animals, hot air balloons, portraits and classic automobiles.
2016 marks the beginning of SRPS’s 40th year as a club specifically devoted to the interests of amateur photographers. Members range from complete beginners to advanced masters, and the club provides everyone many opportunities to improve their photographic skills, learn new “digital darkroom” and print techniques, and to participate in fun activities. SRPS member images are often among the top ribbon winners at the Sonoma, Marin, and Napa County Fairs, and members' images are often displayed in public buildings, private restaurants, and exhibits throughout Sonoma County and beyond.
