Five Forestville Wineries
Forestville is in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma Wine Country, an area well known to wine lovers for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines that are produced from grapes grown among the rolling hills of the area. A bit more spread out than other parts of Sonoma County, Forestville rewards the intrepid traveler with scenic vistas and small roads worth discovering.
Here are five wineries to find in Forestville:
A family owned and operated micro-winery specializing in limited production Pinot Noir and Tempranillo, located in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Learn all about out history, winemaking techniques and farming practices firsthand from winemaker, Cecilia Enriquez.
The winery specializes in single-vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and old vine Zinfandel. The Hartford family bottles wine labeled with two distinct marks—Hartford and Hartford Court. The Hartford Court bottlings are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Hartford labeled wines are old vine Russian River Valley Zinfandel.
One of the newest tasting rooms in Forestville, this winery got its start in a family garage in 2006 with two French oak barrels, a small basket press, and one ton of Russian River Valley grapes. Now it produces 2,500 cases of exceptional wines each year.
The popular Pinot and Syrah are worth a visit, but finding the driveway can be a trick. Though the address is 2916 Laguna Road, the tasting room driveway and entrance are located on Trenton Road. Rather than veering right from Trenton Road onto Laguna Road, keep left staying on Trenton and the driveway will be just past the old farmhouse on the west side of the road.
Sweeping vineyard views and a laid-back atmosphere relax and immerse you in the good life. The property has a rich history as a family farm and winery dating back to the 1890s.
