How to Become a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA)

Sonoma County Tourism launched the Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) program to improve visitation by inspiring front-line hospitality employees and volunteers to work together to turn every visitor encounter into a positive experience. 

In the last five years, over 2,200 tourism professionals, community members and volunteers have become CTA certified. Learn more about the Sonoma County CTA Program here.

Introduction to Tourism Development & the Global Travel Trade

This session provides an overview of the SCT Tourism Development Division--our key initiatives, core markets, and how we work with the travel trade and Sonoma County partners. Our featured presenter, Aida Osta, Director of Travel Trade at Visit California (VCA), outlines VCA's role in the travel trade industry, highlight the state's core global markets, and provide insight into the benefits of working with the travel trade. Lastly, we take a short dive into the data that SCT currently collects with regard to international and domestic leisure travelers. The session can be downloaded here.

“Partner Information Session: How to work with Travel Trade & a closer look at the AAA Travel Program”

This morning session will be dedicated to a brief overview of the SCT Tourism Development Division--how we work with the travel trade and Sonoma County partners. Our featured presenter, Colby Olen, AAA/CAA Multimedia Account Manager | Multimedia Marketing, will outline the benefits of being Inspected & Approved with AAA and how to use the platform to reach its 59+ million Members. If you are currently not Inspected and Approved with AAA, we still encourage you to attend this session. Colby will be able to talk with you about the process of becoming a valued partner of AAA. The session can be downloaded here.
