From fishbowls to Scorpion bowls, you wouldn't believe some of the crazy cocktails that are found here in Sonoma County. We might be best known for our Sonoma County wine and craft beer, but Sonoma County is also home to cideries, distilleries and many craft cocktail bars.

Whether you're just looking for a fun, crazy cocktail to Instagram, or you're looking for your new favorite exotic craft cocktail, we've got a few to choose from!

The Fifteen Minute Bloody Mary

Murphy's Irish Pub, Sonoma

If you're looking to the ultimate hangover fix right on the Sonoma Plaza, a trip to Murphy's Irish Pub is in your future. These legendary bloody marys are not only delicious, but are a meal in themselves with the whopping burger & onion rings added to it (& a beer to start beforehand). This will definitely pick you up from the long night before! Murphy's also has a killer St. Patrick's Day party each year, and events year round with live music. See the full menu.

The Snowbird

Spoonbar, Healdsburg

Just about all of the cocktails at Spoonbar are gorgeous, including The Snowbird below. This cute lemongrass-infused vodka, peppermint, lavender, and lime-juice cocktail is just what you need for a refresher. They're also a farm-to-drink bar, meaning all of their ingredients for their cocktails are usually local, and fresh. See their full menu on their website

The Monkeypod

Chalkboard, Healdsburg

This funky drink from The Chalkboard Restaurant in Santa Rosa will make you feel like you've headed somewhere topical for the night! The Moneypod consists of, you guessed it, rum, as well as coconut, tamarind, cocao, and lime. See the full drinks and cocktail menu here.

Scorpion Bowl

Mario and John's Tavern, Petaluma

Welcome to your friendly neighboorhood craft cocktail bar, serving whiskey, rum, bourbon, vodka, and ... Scorpion Bowls?! These bowls used to be part of a Hawaiian-themed "Tiki Tuesday" at Mario and John's Taven in Petaluma, although now Tiki Tuesdays have reverted back to Tuesdays, and you'll just have to ask the bartender if the Scorpion Bowl is in the cards on the given day! See more about Mario and John's on their Facebook page

Moscow Mules at

Jamison's Roaring Donkey, Petaluma

These moscow mules from Jamison's Roaring Donkey might not be deemed 'crazy' alone, but these Moscow Mule creations are crazy good for any type of person. They range from vodka (Tito's, of course!) to rum, whiskey, tequila, and even bourbon. A certified delicious choice is the refreshing Hibiscus Bliss (hibiscus infused Tito's, cucumber, lime), and a certified crazy choice is the Fruity Pebble (five fruit infused Captain Morgan Lemon). See the full mule lineup here

A Fishbowl

Tex Wasabi, Santa Rosa

Dive into one of these HUGE 1/2 gallon cocktails with a few of your friends every Wednesday Night for half off during the "Nacho Bowla Wednesday" Happy Hour at Tex Wasabi. If you can't make it on Wednesday, they've also got Happy Hour every day (3-6 p.m. daily, plus 9-close Sunday-Thursday) with all different types of specials like Burger & Shot Monday, Taco Tuesday, and Sake & Sushi Thursday. Basically, they're ready for you to come in and have a drink. Cheers!

Rangpur More

Duke's Spirited Cocktails, Healdsburg

The Rangpur More cocktail from Duke's Spirited Cocktails in Healdsburg is Instagrammed frequently, which goes to show in the 21st century it's one of the best. Created by Stephen, one of the owners, this cocktail is a mix of Aloo gin, Rangpur lime shrub, pink peppercorn, saffron bitters, and a house tonic. Duke also has some crazy daily inspiration cocktails, where they show off their creative side and give you a genuine, hand crafted cocktail. See all their cocktails here.

Piña Chelada

Mi Tierra, Santa Rosa

It was only until I caught a small glimpse of Mi Tierra's Piña Chelada through a picture online that I knew I had to run down to Santa Rosa to taste this gorgeous drink myself. It's absolutely delicious.

A carved out pinneaple filled with your choice of beer (Insider Tip: Pacifico for the win) and their house-made Michelada mix, garnished with oranges, shrimp, limes, jicama, cucumber, and pineapple. This 'Chelada is fit for a king — or queen. They've also got different variations, such as the Piña Chavela, Michelada, and Chavela. Stop in to have some great food as well! See their full menu here.
