Be Inspired by Cokas Diko

“Be inspired,” is the catch phrase at Cokas Diko, and that is what you will be when you see the lighting, furniture, and giftware tucked inside these design stores located in Sonoma County.

They carry décor from around the world as well as custom furniture made mostly in North Carolina. If you find the perfect chair but the color won’t work with your living room, there are hundreds of fabrics to choose from to make it fit your décor to perfection.

What started 16 years ago as a small shop in downtown Santa Rosa has grown into two treasure-filled stores and a large outlet warehouse where I just discovered a soft-gray, Italian leather headboard for our guestroom. The design professional then pointed out exquisite Villa linens to match, and I scouted out a bluestone-based lamp and an area rug to complete the new look. Can’t wait until our next round of relatives to arrive from Boston to enjoy the upgrades.

Owner Ramon Espinoza globe hops to find one-of-a-kind items. “We carry contemporary, traditional and everything in between,” he said. “I have an eye for the unique and I’m always stepping up my standards to find what people want.” He carries Arte Italica dinnerware and pewter, too. “People just love it.”

Small glass birds are so cute and only $12, and there’s a metal-crafted, multicolored deer head to jazz up your walls for $98. If you need a present there’s always something special waiting, like bangle bracelets from Africa or ivory, beeswax candles in reusable jars.

Cokas Diko is always a treat because the merchandise moves quickly and there are new things to ogle. When you make a purchase you know the same thing is not for sale in chain stores nationwide, so your home reflects the true you.
