Best Winter Events for the 20 Somethings in Sonoma County

It's a New Year, which also means it's winter, where indoor events from music to wine are happening every weekend in Sonoma County. But not sure what the best events are that are worth your paycheck? Here is a vouch-worthy list of fun this winter, guaranteed to be worth your time if you're 20-something!

Music Events

The Expendables and HIRIE

Mystic Theater, Petaluma – 20 Jan, 2017
If you haven’t been to the Mystic Theater in Petaluma yet – get there. It’s an extremely small, intimate venue that is awesome to see your favorite performers up close. The Mystic always has great artists playing each month, with tickets being incredibly affordable. The Mystic also has a few more reggae artists this winter, such as Protoje (Jan 16) and the legendary Steel Pulse (Feb 9). Get out your dancing shoes, grab a brew at Mcnear’s Saloon next door and enjoy some reggaetón!

Sage the Gemini

Phoenix Theater, Petaluma – 21 Jan, 2017
If you are from the bay area, you must be familiar with Sage the Gemini, the rapper famous for “Gas Pedal” and “Red Nose”. He’s done songs with Trey Songz, Nick Jonas, Kid Ink, 2 Chainz and more renowned artists! And after the show, head downtown to the Roaring Donkey or Maguire's Pub in Petaluma to keep the party going.

Bret Michaels

Rock Star University House of Rock, Santa Rosa – 24 Feb, 2017
Although this event might be a bit random for this lineup – it was necessary. The Rock Star University House of Rock is found in Santa Rosa and was started by two “little rockers”, Vincenzo and Vittorio, known as V². It’s basically Jack Black’s School of Rock in the flesh. Who wouldn’t want to relive one of our favorite early 2000’s movies?! Don’t let the man bring you down…

Pliny the Younger Release

Russian River Brewing Company, Santa Rosa – 3-16 Feb, 2017
The Pliny the Younger release at Russian River is a huge deal each year – this coveted triple-hopped ale has people lining outside the brewery for days during the short two weeks a year that it’s available. It’s amazing, and one of those ‘bucketlist’ items that needs to be done. People from all over the U.S. come to do this, so why shouldn’t you?!
