Country Summer 2018: What You Need to Know

Get ready for Country Summer 2018 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds!

This summer marks the fifth annual Country Summer festival — Northern California’s biggest country music festival— at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, and single day tickets are on sale now.

The headliners for the 2018 event include Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, and Toby Keith.

Flordia Georgia Line

Florida Georgia Line is one of the most well-known country acts of 2018. The duo of Tyler Hubbard (from Florida) and Brian Kelley (from Georgia) debuted in 2012 with their single "Cruise," which was downloaded more than seven million times, making it the best-selling digital country song of all time.

Little Big Town

Little Big Town is an American country music group that uses a four-part vocal harmony, with all four members alternating as lead vocalists. From the moment they released their first album in 2002, they have had numerous number one hits and top 10 singles, including “Bring It On Home."

Toby Keith

Toby Keith is a longtime mainstay in county music, ever since he released his self-titled album in 1993. He has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, and his first single "Should've Been a Cowboy” was the most-played country song of the 1990s.

The Country Summerfestival has grown throughout the years to include shopping, experiential activities, fair food, and wines from Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens.

For those looking for more lodging close by, the newly opened retro hotel The Astro Motel is walking distance from the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. It’s also walking distance from downtown Santa Rosa craft breweries like Russian River Brewery and restaurants like Belly Left Coast Kitchen and Tap Room. Or, try the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country, just a bit further in Railroad Square.

Pro Tip: Last year the temperatures in Santa Rosa were around 100 degrees during the hottest parts of the day. Prepare for the heat beforehand by bringing sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Guests are also allowed homemade lunches, snacks, and one water in a plastic container.

Join the Country Club for access to the air-conditioning inside Saralee Kunde & Richard’s Barn, guest appearances from some of Country Summer’s artists, a private cash bar, private restrooms, a buffet meal, and snacks throughout the day!

To beat the heat outside of the Country Summer festival, head to Bodega Bay beaches for cooler weather, and The Birds Cafe for Sonoma Coast wine and oysters.
