December 2018 Sonoma County Music Picks
As Buddy the Elf (from the movie Elf) says, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear,” and the Sonoma County holiday cheer can be heard all throughout December this year. From the Lighting of the Snowmen at Cornerstone in Sonoma, to a Chanukah Festival at Montgomery Village, to the annual Nutcracker ballet, holiday music is taking the stage at many events this season.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party
Monday, December 3
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has been playing American swing and jazz music for over 25 years, thrilling audiences around the world with their unique and spirited “Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party,” which has become an annual family event here in Sonoma County. Drawing on many holiday classics and Christmas originals from the band’s two full-length holiday albums, they bring their fun and quirky take on the holidays to Santa Rosa.
Tuesday, December 4
LeAnn Rimes has been a country singer since she was 13 years old, and she is back in Sonoma County for her You and Me and Christmas Tour. Joining her on stage as a special guest is former San Francisco Giants pitcher turned musician, Barry Zito.
David Luning Band
Friday, December 7 & Saturday, December 8
Originating from Forestville, CA, singer/songwriter David Luning and the David Luning Band return to HopMonk Sebastopol. After playing Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park in October, the David Luning Band is on tour but coming back home for two nights this December.
Navidad Mexicana with Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles
Saturday, December 8
Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles brings the spirit of the Holidays through the historic art of mariachi to Sonoma County. Mariachi Reyna has created its own history as America’s first all-female mariachi ensemble, blazing the trail for female mariachi musicians.

Elim Lutheran Church in Petaluma

Beats Before Bed
Thursday, December 20
Once a month, the Lagunitas Petaluma opens up late for live music in their taproom. December will feature local music by Oso Cali, Eki Shola, Susy Dugan and Lenkadu, and video projections by Bill Wiatroski.
