Equality Everywhere: Sonoma County Pride 2015
Time to show your pride Sonoma! A reinvigorated Sonoma County Pride celebration will take place from Friday June 5, 2015 through Sunday June 7, 2015 in Guerneville, the traditional gay capitol of wine country. Under the banner of the weekend’s theme “Equality Everywhere” a three-day arc of festivities is planned that will encourage participants to be out and proud from the shores of the Russian River to downtown Guerneville.
Kicking off in the early evening on Friday, June 5th with the First Friday Art Walk highlighted by a special Russian River LGBT Art Exhibit followed by a country western dance at the Guerneville Veterans Memorial Hall, the Pride weekend fun shifts into high gear at the Rio Theatre on Saturday, June 6 with “A Day at the River,” an afternoon of activities that promises kayaking, BBQs, films, music and games. Come nightfall, Veteran’s Memorial Hall will once again become the destination of first resort for the weekend’s pride revelers as it plays host to the “Promised Land Dance Party”, while Sydney drag queen Tora Hymen also hosts a pride edition of her outrageous show with her cadre of Backwoods Barbies in tow.
On Sunday, from 11AM to 12PM, the official “Equality Everywhere Celebration” will begin with the annual Pride parade through downtown Guerneville which will be followed by a festival and pool party at West Sonoma Inn, the official host hotel for Sonoma County Pride 2015.
In the lead up to Pride weekend, Graton Resort and Casino will host a night at La Cage on Saturday, April 18, with proceeds benefiting Sonoma County Pride. For more information or to purchase tickets to this event click here.
