An Evening of Wine & Music at Keller Estate Winery

In Sonoma County, a destination with no shortage of spectacular temptations for the senses on tap, Keller Estate Winery still manages to be a stand out.

Peering out over the much buzzed about 'Petaluma Gap,' Keller Estate not only enjoys the benefits of the dual maritime influences that define the region's geographical signature, but also of a stunning 650-acre perch with one of the best vantage points from which to fully appreciate the beauty of Petaluma.

This spring I had the great opportunity to tour Keller Estate Winery on the most picture-perfect of the days. The tour was part of the annual Artisan Cheese Festival and as such included a special cheese tasting and a memorable three-course cheese-inspired lunch prepared by guest chef Mayet Cristobal, the executive chef for Bon Appétit at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, and the Getty Villa in Malibu.

Spending a perfectly sunny and temperate afternoon drifting around the Keller winery, taking in the property's magnificent art collection, which includes original lithographs from Marc Chagall, an installation of the 'Burnt Trees' by Philippe Pastor, and vibrant works by Grace Keller (of the Keller family) was treat enough on a Friday.

However, sampling local cheeses alongside Keller's stellar vintages and chef Christobal's dreamy creations was the proverbial icing on the cake.

Though this year's Artisan Cheese Festival has passed (do mark your calendars now for next year), there is yet another opportunity on the horizon to experience the magic of the Keller Estate as I recently experienced it.

Keller Estate has partnered with the Festival del Sole for a sumptuous dinner scheduled to take place at the Estate from 8 – 10 p.m. on July 16, 2013.  The dinner will follow an elegant program of music in Weill Hall at Sonoma State University's Green Music Center featuring the Russian National Orchestra, conducted by Carlo Montanaro, with Sarah Chang performing Samuel Barber's popular Violin Concerto, and Jean-Yves Thibaudet in Saint-Saëns' 'Egyptian' Piano Concerto No. 5.

VIP passes to the evening include premium seating for the concert and an invitation to the exclusive dinner at Keller Estate following it.
