Gay Wine Weekend 2014: A Feast for All the Senses

After five glorious years, Sonoma County's own Out in the Vineyard, keeps upping the ante for what has quickly become the world's largest annual LGBT wine event. Set to take place from June 13 -15, Gay Wine Weekend 2014 is on track deliver more of the magic that has given the annual gathering the wings with which to soar over the last several years.

'Think Aspen Gay Ski Week, but with wine,' Out in the Vineyard founder Mark Vogler recently said of the event in an interview with the Gay Star News. 'We want the gay community to learn about wine and the wine lifestyle. We live in Napa and Sonoma, a luxury travel destination, and nobody is marketing to the LGBT community. That's why I started Out In The Vineyard.'

As in previous years, Gay Wine Weekend 2014 will feature a slew of the signature events that regularly attract gay oenophiles (and many of their straight friends) to Wine Country for one of the most anticipated events of summer.

Things kick off on Friday, June 13, with an exclusive VIP reception for Gay Wine Weekend guests hosted by La Crema Wines along with the weekend's official host hotel MacArthur Place.

That event will then be followed by a series of winemaker dinners in and around the heart of the Sonoma Valley with wineries including, Lasseter Family Winery, Sebastiani Cellars, Envolve Winery, and Muscardini Cellars.

For Saturday, wine tours and tastings are on the agenda followed by the annual Twilight T-Dance, the highlight of the weekend which has been known to attract its fair share of eye candy thanks to the generous support of sponsors like Colt Studio Group.

Things wind down on Sunday with a Wine Auction and Recovery Brunch benefiting Face to Face Sonoma County AIDS Network.

Has all of that talk about wine, food and general merriment gotten you all geared up for the gayest Gay Wine Weekend ever?  I'll assume the answer is yes (unless of course you've expired) and direct you to head over to and reserve tickets and VIP Passes for this year's event.

Cheers!
