After gathering in Sonoma County with your loved ones for Thanksgiving, opting outside on "Green Friday," and supporting locals on Small Business Saturday, lean into the spirit of the season with Giving Tuesday.

This 7-year-old global celebration of generosity transforms communities by building up people power to donate to local causes and needs. This Giving Tuesday, Sonoma County is coming out in force to support our neighbors. Here are some ways that you, too, can celebrate the season this December 3rd:

California Indian Museum and Cultural Center

Help preserve and elevate the story of our local indigenous peoples by donating to the California Indian Museum and Cultural Center. This Windsor-based museum showcases California Indian cultures, educates the public, preserves traditions and cultural activities, and strengthens relationships with other indigenous groups.

Children's Museum of Sonoma County

With your support, the Children's Museum of Sonoma County is proud to be a museum for all children in our community, regardless of family income. Help the museum reach its goal of raising $3,000 to fund memberships to the Children's Museum for families with low income by purchasing a membership for $160 ($10 off the regular price; use discount code GIVING19 when buying online) from December 3 - 8 only.  Add $35 at checkout and help fund a family in need and ensure that all children get the chance to play, learn, and grow.

Safari West Wildlife Preserve

Help nurture and inspire the next generation of scientists, educators, and conservationists by donating to the Safari West Wildlife Foundation this Giving Tuesday. Your donation to this cause helps subsidize Discover Africa Treks to hundreds of underfunded schools, operate a thriving Junior Keeper program, and supports a wildly popular Safari Summer Camp.

Petaluma Coffee & Tea

Grab a cappuccino and give back to the community at the same time. When you go to Petaluma Coffee & Tea starting December 3rd, you'll find a Giving Tree filled with wishes from the COTS (Committee On The Shelterless) community. Just find a wish on the tree, bring in a gift certificate matching that wish, and place it in the Wish Box (or give a cash donation, all donations are tax deductible). Then have fun placing a provided ornament on the tree to signify that a wish was fulfilled, and sip away.

Soul Yoga

Do downward dog this Giving Tuesday with actual dogs! Soul Yoga in Santa Rosa will be offering a puppy yoga class at 4:15 p.m. on giving Tuesday to raise funds and awareness for Compassion Without Borders, an international animal welfare organization.
