March & April Sonoma County Nightlife Picks
While the Sonoma County days tend to be warm during the spring, the nights are still cool. Wine tasting and food-centric activities rule the sunlight hours for things to do for travelers, but the Sonoma County nights have some fun options as well.
Top Hits in Sonoma County:
Rebel Junk Vintage Market
Friday, March 2 - Saturday, March 3
Normally you wouldn't think that the words market and nightlife go together, but the Rebel Junk Vintage Market defies what people think about flea markets. With hundreds of traveling vintage vendors, music, and live artist demonstrations, this is where every Pinterest or DIY-lover will want to be. The event starts at 6 p.m. on Friday. Grab VIP tickets to get in early and find out more info on their Facebook page.
7th Annual Sauerkraut Party
Saturday, March 3
Leave it to Les Claypool and his wife, Chaney, owners of Claypool Cellars in Russian River Valley, to throw a Polish-themed party. Sparkling wine and pinot noir paired with various sauerkrauts — guests can pick their favorite of the night, while Moldovan accordion player Nikolai Prisicar plays in the background. Tickets sell out, so buy yours online.
The Press Democrat Sonoma County Women in Conversation
Tuesday March 20
The Sonoma County Women in Conversation series started in 2016 to create a stronger voice around topics of interest for all ages of women. Now, in its third year, the #MeToo movement has brought to light hardships that women face everyday. This year, Ashley Judd, Lindsay Meyer, and Adama Iwu — three women who were featured in the Time Magazine 2017 Person of the Year issue honoring the 'The Silence Breakers'—will be taking the stage at the Luther Burbank Center. Tickets available online.
Sonoma County Fire Relief Beer Event, by Battle of the Brews
Saturday, April 7
Every year the Battle of the Brews, put on by the 20/30 Club in Santa Rosa, raises money for a local charity with ticket sales for their annual beer tasting and sandwich competition. This year is no different, except the money raised goes to fire relief to help Sonoma County fire survivors. Even now, four months after the October 2017 wildfires, help is still needed. Grab your tickets and raise a pint to the generosity and strength of the Sonoma County community.
Friday, April 13 (Friday the 13th)
For some ghostly fun while getting a lesson on Santa Rosa history, be sure to check out the Darkside Tours at the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery on the first Friday the 13th of the year. Every year, actors reenact tales of murder, suicide, and other tragedies in the walking tour. Tickets sell out, so get your tickets when they go live in mid-February through their Facebook event page.
