Sebastopol is Printing in the Streets

Back by popular demand, the Street Printing Festival is coming to Sebastopol on June 21, 2015.

This second annual Street Printing Festival, hosted by Sebastopol Center for the Arts, takes place in the Sebastopol Veteran’s Memorial Building parking lot from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Watch a three-ton pavement “steam” roller be used as a giant printing press in front of a live audience to create unique prints, what amazing fun. Original linocuts were hand-carved by local artists using sheets of “battleship” linoleum, and will be pressed by the roller to create large-scale prints. The finished prints will be exhibited on site, and a limited number of the prints, “hot off the press,” will be for sale.

It’s a free and fun outdoor event for the entire family. You’ll also find booths presenting exhibits and demonstrations with a variety of book and printing specialties, such as bookmaking, papermaking, printmaking, letterpress printing, writing, calligraphy, book arts, and stamps.

There will be live music and interactive printmaking activities for children. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. It’s Father’s Day so, bring Dad, and bring the whole family.

The free event takes place on Sunday, June 21, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High Street, in Sebastopol. For more information call 707-829-4797, or go to their website, sebarts.org.
