The Second Annual Signature Sonoma Valley: April 6-8, 2018
As the heart of California Wine Country, Sonoma County is famous for its hundreds of wineries, and world-class winemakers — and at the second annual Signature Sonoma Valley April 6-8, 2018, you can discover more than 80 sommelier-selected wines and the 90+ vintners and growers who crafted them, all in one encompassing weekend.
You can select one event for a taste of the good life, or choose many for an immersive experience with top vintners like Ram’s Gate Winery, Imagery Estate Winery, The Donum Estate, Three Sticks Wines, and dozens more.
Here’s one we can particularly recommend, since it is so unusual for a wine festival. Wine + Design, April 6 and 7, offers the rare opportunity to visit exclusive properties and private homes not otherwise open to the public. With each tour hosted by prominent vintners, the visits include lunch paired with limited edition wines.
Here are just a few of the other activities in store:
The festival kicks off Friday, April 6, with an Icon gathering at Ram’s Gate Winery in Los Carneros. The 6 p.m. walk-around tasting features a meet-and-greet with 30 winemakers and winegrowers, focusing on legends and upcoming trends for the region. Enjoy bites from Ram’s Gate Winery executive chef Taylr Behnam, too.
New this year, Retrospective on April 7 at Hanzell Vineyards provides an exclusive tasting experience for just 30 guests. Geared toward serious wine aficionados and collectors, the gathering showcases Hanzell’s legendary vintages across multiple decades, led by Hanzell winemaker Michael McNeill.
On both April 6 and 7, you can explore Immersion, held at various wineries. Go behind the scenes at iconic, off-the-beaten path vineyards, and enjoy a sommelier-moderated tasting and discussion of wines, followed by a farm-to-table lunch. Some of the participating wineries include Bedrock Vineyard, Sangiacomo Family Vineyards, and Silver Cloud Vineyard.
