Sonoma Creek Inn: Value plus Convenience

For everyone who has either complained about the cost of a trip to Wine Country or groused about not being to afford a visit to Sonoma County, I have an answer for you: Sonoma Creek Inn.

Tucked into a residentia

l community, the Sonoma Creek Inn offers value and convenience right in the heart of Sonoma. Just a short five- to 10-minute drive from the historic plaza in downtown Sonoma and proximate to any number of wineries along Highway 12 (think Imagery Estate Winery, Chateau St. Jean, Deerfield Estate Winery, and Paradise Ridge, among others), Sonoma Creek Inn is a bit of hidden gem.

Decidedly more no-frills than its pricey neighbor, the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, Sonoma Creek Inn offers all the amenities you'll want and need, including convenient and plentiful parking, flat-screen televisions, complimentary Wi-Fi and complimentary local and long-distance calls, all in inviting, generously sized rooms that have been individually decorated for maximum coziness.

As an added bonus the Inn also offers wine-tasting passes, bicycles, concierge services, and a neighboring restaurant, the Creekside Café, which is quite popular with the locals. All in all, not too shabby for a property this size.

Best of all, Sonoma Creek Inn offers all of the above and so much more for under $200 per night. In fact some rooms go for as little as $145 per night depending upon the date.

Even better, now through Aug. 27, 2013, the Inn is offering a $99 Tuesday Farmer's Market Special, which includes a room and discounted passes to select local wineries.

So if you're on a budget and happen to be in Sonoma on a Tuesday, this deal has your name written all over it. A stay in Sonoma, a hint of wine-tasting and access to a little shopping at Sonoma's weekly farmer's market all for $99?

It's no wonder that the New York Times dubbed the Sonoma Creek Inn 'a great bargain.' I can't think of a better one in Sonoma County proper.
