Sunset at Paradise Ridge

Wine and romance go together like … well … wine and romance. If you're looking for a way to while away a romantic evening with your significant other on a visit to Sonoma Wine Country, look no further than Paradise Ridge Winery.

Every Wednesday since May 8 this postcard-perfect, 156-acre wine estate located in the heart of Sonoma County has thrown open its doors to host 'Wines & Sunsets in Paradise' — an evening of wine, live music, and street food courtesy of a bevy of local gourmet food trucks.

For the nominal cost of $8 per person, guests not only get to access this lively event but also spectacular sunsets from the winery's expansive decks and terraces which offer panoramic vistas, vineyard landscapes and some of the most sweeping views of the Russian River Valley in all of Sonoma County.

And although the tasting room at Paradise Ridge is closed during this event, guests can still purchase award-winning Paradise Ridge wines by the glass or by the bottle to enjoy along with all of the aforementioned fun.

So if you haven't had a chance to check out 'Wine and Sunsets' this season,   the good news is that there's still time to get in on the magical evenings as the sun won't set on this weekly happening until October 16.

While you're making the trek, why not arrive a little early and make an afternoon of it by checking out 'The Spirit of the Man', the current sculpture exhibition at Paradise Ridge featuring 34 major works by sculptors based locally and throughout the United States.

The show includes significant works by world-renowned sculptors working in the modern abstract, contemporary and postmodern genres. It also features work created for Black Rock City in the Nevada desert and makes for an enchanting pre-sunset stroll.

Wine, sunsets, art, and romance … when was the last time you had a better Wednesday?
