For the past 25 years, this annual event has attracted world-class live blues bands, globally renowned tattoo artists, exhibits, fire dancers, and art, oh so much art. This year’s theme is Dia de los Muertos, and as always, a highlight is the tattoo competition, in categories like Best Traditional, Best Black & Grey, Best Sleeve and Best Tattoo of the Day, plus theme categories like Best Day of the Dead Tattoo and Best Day of the Dead Costume.
Free Comedy Shows, first Tuesday of every month until Aug. 16, 2016
Sally Tomatoes is better known for its pizza and spaghetti, but from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays, the Rohnert Park restaurant rocks with local and Bay Area talent cracking our funny bones. Arrive early – there’s no admission charge – and enjoy a meal of grilled focaccia pizza, chicken parmesan with pasta, or a big burger topped in Lagunitas IPA balsamic caramelized onions and provolone. Savor some wine and beer, too, with nightly food and drink specials, to boot.
Make-A-Thon, Mar. 5 & 6, 2016
This first ever North Bay Make-A-Thon promises plenty of brainpower. A project of Sonoma State University and North Bay iHub, the all-day gatherings cater to innovators at Sonoma State in categories including Sustainability, Hand Made, Tech, Art, Education, and Awesome. Certainly professionals will be in attendance, but the general public is invited to participate and observe, too, with access to prototyping software from Autodesk and 3D printers along with mentorship support from technical experts to help co-design and develop ideas. How cool is that!
Ping Pong Palooza, every Tuesday, 2016
Bring on your mad table tennis skills at Palooza Gastropub and Wine Bar in Kenwood. Games are free with dinner purchase or $5 without, and the winner gets a Palooza gift card. Play runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday, but be sure to plan time for a good meal and brew, too. Signatures include barbecue baby back ribs, pulled pork mac ‘n’ cheese, fish ‘n’ chips, and the Kenwood burger dressed in red wine mushroom garlic aioli, Jack cheese and Pinot Noir mushroom reduction.
