Visit Sea Ranch and Gualala for Spectacular Architectural Tour Wine Tasting & Auction
It’s a fascinating opportunity that comes just once a year, when the distinctive homes of The Sea Ranch and Gualala open their doors for self-guided tours, hosted by their designers, architects, builders, and homeowners.
In this 30th Annual Architectural Tour Wine Tasting & Auction taking place May 10, 2014, a collection of 8 to 10 homes will be on display, to showcase new, newly remodeled, or historically significant homes. And after the tour, guests can gather for a wine tasting, featuring local producers, plus a wine and gift auction to benefit Soroptimist International of Mendocino-Sonoma Coast.
The coastal luxury community of Sea Ranch and Gualala is known for its futuristic home design concepts that at the same time reflect historical simplicity.
To showcase the dramatic setting atop the high cliffs, area homes feature indoor/outdoor living spaces, and are situated on carefully thought-out, clustered plots sited to preserve privacy while at the same time preserving open space and views.
It was envisioned as a community that’s unique to the Sonoma Coast, and revered worldwide for its stunning architecture.
Now, as it’s evolved over the years, the area offers extraordinary diversity ranging from the original North Coast Style architecture to the current modern ‘green’ representations of “living lightly on the land.”
The self-guided Architectural Tour runs at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the wine tasting and auction follows from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Gualala Art Center. Wineries include some of Sonoma Coast’s finest, such as Flowers Vineyard & Winery, Annapolis Winery, Navarro Vineyards, Handley Cellars, and Husch Vineyards.
Pre-ordered tickets are $55, or $60 on the day of the tour. To purchase, visit the website; or call 1-800-838-3006.
