Wonderful Nights of Dinner and Wine in Sonoma County

There's a lot more than wine to love in Sonoma County but, that said, wine is without doubt one of Sonoma's biggest selling points.

's wonderful, 's marvelous
you should care for me!
's awful nice, 's paradise,
's what I love to see.

(Ira Gershwin)

Similarly, there can be little question that one of the best ways to experience Sonoma Wine Country's best wines is by sampling them alongside a menu of carefully selected courses with which the wines are ideally paired.

Though Inn at the Tides in Bodega Bay kicked off its stellar 27th annual Summer/Fall Winemaker Dinner Series back in August, there are still two major winemaker dinners on tap for 2013 so it's not too late to get in on the end of the year fun.

On Friday, Nov. 15, Inn at the Tides will welcome winemaker Julia Iantosca of Lasseter Family Winery for an impressive four-course wine and food pairing dinner.

Wines, including the Lasseter 2012 enjoue, the 2011 chemin de fer, the 2011 l'ame du sage, and the 2010 Paysage, will be featured alongside a menu of seared ahi tuna, garganelli pasta with wild boar ragu, prime dry-aged beef steak with a blackberry glaze and dark chocolate truffle cake.

The following month on Dec. 6, Inn at the Tides will open its doors to winemaker Bob Iantosca of Gloria Ferrer for the last dinner in the series, which will feature five courses (including a cheese course).

Wines to be poured include Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Noirs, Gloria Ferrer Chardonnay Carneros, Estate Grown, Gloria Ferrer Pinot Noir and Gloria Ferrer Merlot, all of which will be served alongside a menu featuring fresh Dungeness crab salad, duck confit, herb-roasted lamb rack and almond and apple crisp.

As an added bonus, Inn at the Tides offers special guest room rates exclusively for Winemaker Dinner guests so that attendees can really make an evening of it without having the hassle of driving home. Rates are single/double occupancy, are valid for one night and range from $140 - $160.

Wine, dinner and a night in one of Sonoma County's most romantic properties.  Doesn't that just sound 's wonderful?
