Part of the allure of Sonoma Valley is this Park, boasting over 29 miles of trails across 1400 acres including stunning vistas and the historic buildings from the time when famous writer/adventurer Jack London called this his home. Jack London State Historic Park was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1963.

Come take a walk, hike, bike ride, horseback ride, bird watch, take pictures, paint, picnic, relax, learn, enjoy nature. The main attraction to the Park is certainly the man and the legend - Jack London, famous for his literary accomplishments as well as his dramatic exploits, exotic travels and adventures. This history is encapsulated in either a short half-mile loop that takes less than an hour or a more leisurely two-hour walk that affords visitors a chance to see the historic buildings and exhibits highlighting London’s life, including his innovative experiments with methods of sustainable farming. You can explore on your own or take a tour led by a docent, which offers an even deeper look into Jack London’s life and times. While the history is an important draw, many are enticed simply by the breath-taking natural resources there for all to experience.
