Dirty Cello at Hopmonk Sebastopol
The Dirty Cello band spends a lot of the year on the road, but loves coming back home to the North Bay for a yearly show at the Sebastopol Hopmonk. Recently returned from the East Coast and Florida, the band is scheduled to play on March 2.
We always love playing at the Sebastopol Hopmonk since we use it as a focal point of the year to take all the random and wacky adventures weve had and get some songs together, and put on a fun show for the audience, says Rebecca Roudman, the bands vocalist and cellist. Weve even got a new song about an aggressive note someone left at a concert calling the men of our band, scruffy and dirty, while complementing my choice of clothes.
The 5 piece Dirty Cello band will be putting on a concert thats a little different than some of the shows at the Sebastopol Hopmonk. There will be chairs for the audience to sit in, general admission for the entire concert, and the show starts at the fairly early hour of 8 pm and doesnt go too late. The band is known for highly energetic shows that also involve lots of stories and audience interaction, all while being comfortable and informal. According to Strings Magazine, the bands live shows are described as: "Anyone who's been in an audience when the San Francisco Bay Area Dirty Cello takes the stage knows that something unique happens whenever cellist Rebecca Roudman and ensemble come face to face with living, breathing (and whooping and shouting) fans."
