Fall Color Photo Walk
Jack London State Historic Park is dazzling in fall, with a blend of gold, orange, brown and red colors throughout the vineyards, forests, and Jack Londons Beauty Ranch.
On Nov. 12, the parks longtime photographer and hike leader Deborah Large will lead a Fall Color Photo Walk at 8-11:30 a.m.
With the blaze of fall colors, now is a perfect time to unleash your creativity while crafting awe-inspiring images with ICM or intentional camera movement. Using this technique, the camera is moved during the exposure for a creative or artistic effect. Its easy to get hooked on this method while having fun! Large said.
We are blessed with a bounty of fall colors and the opportunity to be inspired. On this walk, you can capture that magic in photographs to enjoy all year and share with others. Youll learn how to make a storytelling image with the use of composition, color, and contrast. We will finish by sharing a few photos from the morning shoot, she added.
After the walk, participants can submit their three best images from the day for a shared web gallery.
Although the class is designed for all levels of photographers, participants will get the most out of the class by being familiar with camera controls, whether using a DSLR, basic point-and-shoot or a smartphone.
Reservations are required and can be made at https://jacklondonpark.com/events/fall-photo-walk-2023/. Tickets are $15 per person, plus an entry fee of $10 per vehicle (up to nine passengers).
Access to some photography locations is via uneven and rocky surfaces. For more information about accessibility, call 707-938-5216.
