Forest Bathing with Jen Borrow

Join Jen Borrow on a guided forest bathing experience. Forest therapy, also known as forest bathing, is deeply influenced by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku. Shinrin in Japanese means “forest,” and yoku means “bath,” or bathing in the atmosphere and smells of the forest. Forest therapy has demonstrated health benefits particularly for the cardiovascular and immune systems. However, physical benefits are not the only aspect of this practice. It also helps balance emotions and cognitive function.

A forest therapy walk is not a hike or a plant identification walk. It is a slow wander over 2-3 hours using simple, open, and grounding invitations that bring you back to your senses and the natural world. The forest bathing experience will close with tea and light snacks followed by a simple vegan lunch from 1-2pm. (Bring your own if you have dietary restrictions). Feel free to stay past 2pm and wander more in the garden afterwards as well.

Tea service and a simple vegan lunch will be served. Bring your own if you have dietary restrictions.

Instructor Bio: Jen Borrow is a certified Forest Therapy guide through the Association for Nature and Forest Therapy with a Masters in Transpersonal Ecopsychology from Naropa University. She has seen first hand the power of Forest Therapy which deeply impacts the mind, body and soul. There is no prescribed outcome or a map for what “should” be experienced as each person’s journey is unique.  For Jen, Forest Therapy is a coming together of all that she has studied and learned over the years, into one practice.
