Sonoma County offers holiday concerts, performances, Nutcracker

Transcendence Theatre Company presents its Broadway Holiday Spectacular – 2017 Holiday Show, Dec. 1-3 at Santa Rosa's Luther Burbank Center.

From Handel’s Messiah to a Broadway Holiday Spectacuar; Posada Navidena to Celtic Christmas - get into the holiday spirit in Sonoma County by taking in a performance, concert, or one of several renditions of The Nutcracker.

Find more 2017 holiday activities and events here. For that hometown flavor, go to a tree lighting or holiday parade. Stock up on artist- and artisan-made gifts found in many craft fairs around the area. Check out events at area wineries. Visit a tree farm to get a freshly cut Christmas tree.

The Nutcracker Musical

In this new version of A Christmas Carol, Mrs. Bob Cratchit, a previously minor character in the famous Dickens tale, takes center stage! No longer loving and long suffering, Mrs. Bob is in a rage. She's sick of the goody-goody crippled Tiny Tim, she hates her twenty other children, and she wants to get drunk and jump off London Bridge. To make matters worse, the Ghost of Christmas Past’s magic is malfunctioning and somehow the plots of Oliver Twist, The Gift of the Magi, and It’s a Wonderful Life all get caught up in the snow flurry of Holiday hilarity.
