“Urban camping” at Johnson’s Beach offers the summertime fun of a riverside campground all within easy walking distance to Guerneville’s charming downtown. Located on 3.5 acres of privately owned land, the Johnson’s Beach campground features 25 camping spots overlooking the Russian River. Broad-limbed sycamore and black walnut trees provide a shady retreat from the sun-drenched beach area, and the nightly view of the moon and the stars reflected in the river are reserved exclusively for guests when Johnson’s Beach closes to the public each evening. The Beach offers canoes, single and double kayaks and pedal boats for rent, as well as umbrellas, low beach chairs and inner tubes. Our inner tubes are for use at our beach site only. There is a snack bar on the beach and beer is for sale at the boathouse. A popular spot is the roped off kiddies’ pool. There is no charge to enter or to park. A free boat launch is available during business hours.
Amenities: The Resort opens earlier and closes later in the year than the Beach, depending on the weather. There is a campground and rustic cabin-type rooms that were built in the 1920s. A game room, coin-op launderette and barbeque area are available for the use of Resort guests. All rooms are non smoking and have private bathrooms with showers, refrigerators and TVs. Some units include kitchenettes that are equipped with basic cookware. Linens, blankets and bath towels are provided.
