Oakmont Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses, the West and the East. The West Course is slightly longer than the executive-length East, but they are both challenging courses. The front nine on the West Course features small greens where smart players should aim for the center for a relatively short birdie putt. The greens expand on the lengthier back nine, where more yardage calls for a longer iron into the greens. Strategically placed bunkers are balanced by more player-friendly elements such as wide fairways and generous landing areas. It is shorter than most modern championship golf courses at a little over 6,300 yards. It is easily walkable but will still provide you with a fair test. Although the design of the golf course is a major draw, Oakmont also boasts well conditioned greens that provide excellent putting surfaces.
