Batik & Indigo with Kori Hargreaves
West County Fiber Arts presents a class combining the expressive art of beeswax resist with the beauty of natural indigo. Participants will get to wrap themselves in a weekend of beautiful blues and magical beeswax! The art of beeswax resist has evolved in countless cultures around the globe as a method of creating intricate, multi-layered designs on textiles.
Over the weekend students will create several small sample pieces and one larger piece that can be worn as a scarf, or cut and sewn into whatever the heart desires. The focus of this workshop will center around having fun, gaining confidence, and getting to know the ins and outs of this beautiful medium!
Enjoy a potluck lunch, giving everyone time to socialize with the instructor and fellow students.
West County Fiber Arts is the studio of felt artist Heidi Harris, on a beautiful 1-acre property in rural Sonoma County, California. Classes will take place in a tented area in the garden. For more information, please visit the website.
