Celebrating the Living Historians of World War II and Korea Veterans
Visit With the Heroes of the '40s and '50s! Meet and speak with the men and women who served our nation. The event is designed for people of all ages, but especially for young people, to meet the heroes, talk one-on-one with them, and hear their stories first-hand!
Admission is free. Food will be available for purchase. Additional attractions include: a P-51 Mustang fly-by, Big Band/Swing Music, Sonoma County Calendar Girls in clothing from the era, kids’ activities, and Warbirds on display.
Participants include over 40 local pilots, navigators, bombardiers, turret gunners, paratroopers, battleship gunners, decipher specialists, infantrymen, WAVES, radio operators, map interpreters, journalists, and more. Many of them flew or served as crew aboard P-47 Thunderbolts, P-51 Mustangs, B-17 Flying Fortresses, P-38 Lightnings, B-29 Super Fortress, F4U Corsairs, TBM Avengers, B-24 Liberators, C-47 Gooney Birds, and T-33 Shooting Stars. Learn about their varied experiences.
