Climbing Out of Blue
Climbing Out of Blue is an interactive art experience in which the viewer and the viewer's response are as important as the artist and her statement: Think of this as a conversation in paint.
Artist, Renee Ortiz has long been curious about the relationships between art, artist and patron. As she strives to communicate with art, rather than a one sided conversation in which the painter paints and the patron responds, Renee would like her viewers to take a more active role. For Climbing Out of Blue, Ms. Ortiz is exploring the topic of situational depression. While the gallery will display the painted conversations thus far, she invites participants to add to this, and promises an additional piece or two at the closing of the show.
The show will be on display through May 25, Monday through Friday, 10 am. - 4 p.m.
Renee's heart goes out to the victims of the recent fires. In conjunction with the Journey Center and Living Roots, she would like to give a small work to all she meets as a tiny contribution in the effort to rebuild.
