Learn about the unique qualities and process of indigo dyeing, along with dye techniques that take advantage of the indigo’s special nature. Participants will also work with native oak galls as an underdye. This is a one day workshop that is offered on both Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8.
Enjoy a potluck lunch and socialize with the instructor and fellow students. Just bring something to share for lunch, any personal beverages and snacks, wear layered clothing that you don’t mind getting water or dye on, a notebook and camera if desired, and two small garments or pieces of fabric (natural fibers only).
West County Fiber Arts is the studio of felt artist Heidi Harris, on a beautiful 1-acre property in rural Sonoma County, California. Classes will take place both indoors and in the garden.
