Giving Thanks at the Homestead
Join Artful Arrangements Homestead Gardens for the 5th annual free gathering and guided grounds tour of a 1915 homestead. This annual event is becoming a new family tradition for the month of November, much like pumpkins in October and Christmas Trees in December. Held the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day. Children always Plant-a-Plant for free to keep.
Tour the grounds of the century old homestead, walk through The Portal of Time, then reassemble in the Gardens to count blessings, with a repast, libations and music — and the children (with a parent’s help), will plant sedum (for free), and take photographs for sending out to each family later.
There is no charge to attend, and the tour, repast, libations, music and plants are included. Bring side dishes to share if possible, dress in layers, and be prepared to make new friends while having some low-key fun.
Artful Arrangements was established in 2007 with a membership in Sonoma County Farm Trails, and the organization has evolved into a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization that helps children, families and aligned nonprofits through gifting and affordable child/parent programs. Events like Giving Thanks at the Homestead help children learn social skills, good manners, and to respect their elders, as well as an opportunity for everyone to put down the cell phones to visit — and count blessings. Please call in advance to RSVP.
