Isle of Klezbos at Cotati Cabaret
The NYC-based ISLE of KLEZBOS will perform a repertoire of neo-traditional folk dance, mystical melodies, Yiddish swing, and retro tango, late Soviet-era Jewish drinking songs, re-grooved standards, and genre-defying originals on the Cotati Cabaret stage at Ner Shalom in Cotati.
Free tickets are available for those affected by the 2017 Sonoma County fires.
The soulful, fun-loving all-women’s klezmer powerhouse has been touring from Vienna to Vancouver since its formation in 1998 by drummer/leader Eve Sicular. ISLE of KLEZBOS features alumnae of the Juilliard, Eastman, Berklee and Manhattan Schools of Music. It has won multiple awards from the New York State Council on the Arts, Outmusic, and Sparkplug Foundation.
The band performed for Chamber Music America in World Music & Jazz genres, packed houses in 2017 from Colorado’s JAAMM Fest to the Oberlin Folk Festival to Manhattan’s Pianos on Park, and has recently enjoyed special guest appearances with Alan Alda, Jackie Hoffman, Lisa Kron, and Alan Zweibel.
The performance is a fundraiser for Ner Shalom.
General Admission is $20, VIP tickets are $30, and $10 for kids 12 and under. Fire survivors may call for free tickets while they last by calling (707) 664-8622; all others may also buy regular price tickets at that number and online.
