Nuno Felted Tunic Dress with Charity van der Meer
This 2-day workshop with West County Fiber Arts focuses on designing and making fashionable a Nuno-felted merino wool and silk garment - a tunic dress that is wearable piece of art.
Students will use the instructor’s simple but effective techniques to customize felting patterns for themselves. Surface design will be included in the felting process, using different techniques and materials to make a very creative garment. All materials are included, but you may bring additional embellishments for your garment (wool yarn, locks or roving; silk fabric).
PREREQUISITE: Basic felting experience is required! No sewing needed.
Enjoy a potluck lunch each day, giving everyone time to socialize with the instructor and fellow students.
West County Fiber Arts is the studio of felt artist Heidi Harris, on a beautiful 1-acre property in rural Sonoma County, California. Classes will take place in a tented area in the garden. For more information, please visit the website.
