Silver Oak & Twomey Winemaker Dinner at the Bay View Restaurant
The Inn at the Tides 33rd Annual Winemaker Dinner Series begins the summer season with Silver Oak and Twomey vineyards to the Bay View Restaurant at the Inn at the Tides.
Winemaker dinners are special events that pair fine food with carefully selected wines. Talented winemaker, Matt Duncan joins us to help us appreciate their particular wine, its complexities and how to optimize pairings. Everything tastes better by the sea, especially in Bodega Bay for a Winemaker Dinner that is sure to be pleasant and enjoyable.
From the family of Silver Oak, Twomey’s wines are food-friendly, which means versatile wines that balance modest alcohol and tannin with perfectly ripe fruit and crisp, mouthwatering acidity. The winemakers draw on more than 75-years of holding a deep and abiding respect for tradition, using labor-intensive Old-World wine-making practices to lend wines finesse and distinction.
The evening’s dinner begins with a golden 2017 Twomey Sauvignon Blanc paired with poached salmon. Next is Chef Luca’s amazing pasta, a beautiful Garganelli with eggplant, San Marzano tomatoes and ricotta salata paired with a 2016 Pinot Noir. The entrée is roasted Filet Mignon served with local blue cheese and asparagus, caramelized onion and croquette, paired with an Anderson Valley Cabernet. The finish is a Mousse torte paired with Napa Valley Cabernet.
