Three International Women, Classical and Contemporary Tango in Concert


Traditional and contemporary tango music—combining classical, jazz, Afro rhythms, Argentine folklore, and enhanced physicality of dance—will be presented by three women with international backgrounds: Korean-born pianist Sumi Lee; Panama-born bandoneon (concertina/accordion) player Heyni Solera; and Chinese-American violinist Teagan Faran. Introductory lecture about tango history and women’s space in the genre, a half-hour prior to this concert.
