BROT brings modern German food to Guerneville
Enjoy delicious German classics done with western Sonoma County style in a warm Bavarian atmosphere at BROT, the newest eatery by restaurateur and entrepreneur Crista Luedtke in the Russian River Valley town of Guerneville.
“Brot” literally means bread in German, but figuratively it means livelihood. The new restaurant is a salute to her parents’ former full-service Wisconsin restaurant, Luedtke’s Bratskeller, which was her first training ground.
The lunch and dinner menus at BROT include selections like Bavarian pretzels, potato pancakes, white asparagus salad, pork schnitzel, broasted chicken with bread dumplings, sauerbraten, and flammkuchen (Alsatian pizza).
Luedtke also founded several other Guerneville businesses, including boon hotel + spa, boon eat + drink, and El Barrio, as well as Big Bottom Market, which she sold in 2018.
