Corté Riva Vineyards opens Santa Rosa tasting room
Relax, and sample the wines of Corté Riva Vineyards in their new tasting room in Santa Rosa, in central Sonoma County.
After emigrating from the Philippines in 1978, Lawrence and Nieves Cortez and Romel Rivera spent decades working in the Northern California wine industry before deciding over dinner one night to start their own wine label. Named in homage to their combined last names, Corté Riva Vineyards released its first vintage in 2003.
Over the years, their wines have consistently won high scores from Wine Spectator and Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. They now have two wine labels, Corté Riva and Cortez 78. The new tasting room is open Friday-Sunday, and weekdays by appointment.
