Savor Leo Steen Wines in Healdsburg
Taste interesting wines with both a sense of place and a purpose at the new Leo Steen Wines tasting room in the Wine County town of Healdsburg, in northern Sonoma County.
Born and raised in Denmark and the son of a chef and hotelier, Leo Hansen worked as a sommelier, guiding people through an exploration of the timeless relationship been wine and food, before founding his own winery in 2004.
Steen is the Hansen family’s middle name, and also the South African word for Chenin Blanc — and the centerpiece of Leo Steen Wines is a bone-dry Chenin Blanc. They also produce Chardonnay, Syrah, Grenache, and Cabernet Franc. All wines are made by hand in small lots using gentle, traditional winemaking techniques. The tasting room is open Friday to Monday, or by appointment.
